Wow, that's nice!
Hope you enjoy my tax contributions!
The catch, though I don't know if it applies to medicaid health insurance, is that the state can seize assets upon your death. IIRC, the seizure provision only applies to LTC paid by Medicaid, but I haven't read that provision in a while.

Probably because you haven't been personally impacted by this legislation in a negative way. Others have.

we just got hit with a bill for $827 (have to pay deductible first) which would have been $75 before obamacare. plus our insurance premiums went up 60% - and our employer says it will get worse next time premiums are figured.

what an absolute mess. nothing is fixed. this won't end well.
Get with it. You are supposed to be happy with paying a lot more so the dead beats can get their insurance.

How dare you say complain about your bill... how dare you! Gotta love how they claim you are lying too. <sarcasm>

If your rates went up then why would you assume that the op is lying about his or her rates going up?

Nope.. my insurance, which I will lose in December 2014 "Because of Obamacare" will increase by 40%. But according to you we are both imagining it.

Ok then... we just passed those tax increases onto you, the consumer

anyone who thinks rates didn't go up, substantially, for a great number of people, is delusional. not only rates -- but more importantly rates and requirement to pay the deductible FIRST.

not only did our rates go up substantially, but we had layoffs and extra work added onto employees. sure that happened all over the US - except for govt. offices.

I am on SS and my wife is self-employed. We live in Texas and had to use the government website to get insurance.
Our silver plan is with BCBS of Tx and we have the HMO plan. Our co-pay is 35.00 and I have a 5,000.00 to meet, then is is 80/20.
The plan is affordable
And so far we haven't had any problems.
