Does being visible mean that you get legal protections? A Christian, a Jew, a Muslim, and an Atheist all sitting silently in a room in white tee's and jeans are not identifiable either, but ALL are afforded the same legal protections under the constitution. Why do you feel that gays should be denied the same legal protections you enjoy?

You want an answer to your stupid question? Depends on who is in the room. I could pick out that a Perez Hilton type is gay long before I can tell a Mariah Carey type is black just by glancing around the room.
Now again, what does this have to do with the legal and societal treatment of both groups? Gays have been oppressed throughout history. It doesn't matter if they can hide it better. It doesn't even matter if they are gay. Heterosexuals have been killed/institutionalized/lobotomized, etc. just for being perceived as gay even though they weren't.

The answer is sometimes. Sometimes I can identify a black person, sometimes I can not depends on the skin tone. Sometimes I can identify a gay person simply based on the way they sit, sometimes I can not.
Now. if a black couple, a white couple, and a gay couple walk into city hall to get a marriage license, why should only the gay couple get denied the legal protections and benefits of marriage when the others are not?

It does not say unless they are not easily identifiable as a group. It says ALL PERSONS. Last time I checked, I am a person and an American citizen.
It depends on the person. Sometimes they wear their sexuality on their sleeve, sometimes they don't. If everyone is "wearing the same clothes, the only difference being color", then yes, it would be harder to tell who is gay and who isn't.
