A politician must have a good sense of junket. A politician must be willing to endure the hardships of travel to far-off places, for the game of politics is not just played in the halls of Congress, but on the golf courses of the world. A politician should not be hesitant about using corporate jets; and being a member of a exclusive yacht club is an absolute must.
Son of a #%#$! I am so fed up with these people. Just as they reversed something last year where they can still get away with insider trading. I hate these people, I hate DC. Bunch of crooked, elitist scumbags. Why the hell do we put up with this time after time.
We are a nation of dummies and cowards for allowing these people to continue to do the things they do.
We can hope that change will take place, but I have no hope, that any such change, will take place. The only change that takes place, is the politicians' stand, once they take the oath of office, with a home in D.C..
A politician must not have scruples about money. To take other’s money inspires confidence in one’s constituency, for a politician who cannot be bribed cannot be trusted. In the buying and selling of political influence, bribery adds the commercial appeal of being certain of one’s man; and a politician with a head for business will turn a good profit from selling his office many times over for there is nothing more costly than a political favor.

as long as any member of congress can get away with insider trading, then no American should ever be charged/convicted with insider trading too.
Same goes for perjury and government employee's or favored individuals.
I agree. as long as any government official/bureaucrat can lie to the American public and get away with it, then no American citizen should ever be charged with lying to any member of government.
A politician must be wary of the truth. There is nothing more dangerous than the truth, for if the public should know the truth, all of government will succumb to mob rule and anarchy prevail; and so a politician must exercise the greatest care and skill in concealing it. In this, a politician must be able to lie convincingly and consistently well; and be expert at destroying evidence; which in preserving his office, if not all important, is essential.

The politician doesn't have to lie well. They just need to offer enough to enough people willing to overlook the lie.
