And they get free lawyers to try to prolong their stay, or even talk their way into permanent residence.

What's not to like?
I think the loss of freedom would deter them. I'm just talking about securing the border.

The other question is why are they crossing the border?

If these people are escaping violence in their country, the U.S. has to take them, no questions asked. They are refugees. What the U.S. could do is hire them to secure the border. They know who the good guys and the bad guys are, and they will keep out the bad guys.

And I dont buy for a second, that any increase in funding will lead to most of them being deported. They will use the money for other things.

Obama needs to start threatening to cut off money to these countries yesterday! They should've been out there months ago because they all knew this was coming. They knew it, we have proof that they knew it. Yet they did nothing. Now we have to pay for all this and will more than likely have hundreds of thousands more poor and uneducated added to a population where we already cant deal with the poor enough.
El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras have the some of the highest murder and violence rates of any countries, some of these immigrants are using that as an excuse but mostly that is the reason. You can put in a higher wall, a longer wall and more border agents and they will still come out of desperation, same with countries in the middle east. Until they solve the violence in those countries they will continue to come. We should be cutting off aid to Mexico, they are really just passing along the problem.

Hire illegal immigrants to guard the border

Do you have any idea what it "costs" to jail someone for a year, especially children. Just send them back to their home country. They are not refugees from some catastrophic event. Claiming fear from gang violence is not grounds for asylum.

They are not orphans of America, but of their own home country. The International Red Cross and their partners should be facilitating the help needed to put these lost children/young adults back in their home country and maybe then, their parents/guardians will muster up the decency to stand with their own children after we send them home....

Default Bused-in leftist radicals attack anti-illegal-immigration protestors in Murrieta, CA

Apparently someone unknown, paid to have leftist agitators bussed in from Los Angeles to Murrieta, Calif. to confront the protestors there who were protesting the dumping of illegal aliens in Murrieta on July 4.

The bused-in agitators attacked some of the protestors, including a 70-year-old woman wearing a hat with an American Flag on it. Then they attacked a police officer who came to help the woman. The agitators also burned a number of American flags, including some put up by the anti-illegal-immigration protestors. Police wound up arresting ten of the bused-in agitators.

Expect this kind of violence to get worse as the left does everything they can to drive away normal protestors and shut down their message.

Washington’s PR Nightmare Continues in Murrieta as Residents Turn Back the DHS Buses Again

July 5, 2014

SPECIAL REPORT MURRIETA, California – GMN – After a long and hard fought day in the baking California sun, the Department of Homeland Security and US Border Patrol were forced to bend to the will of the residents of Murrieta, California, as federal bureaucrats made the decision to redirect immigrant bus convoys at 10pm PST – to a facility at the San Ysidro district of the City of San Diego.

The atmosphere was one of tension between DHS and US Border patrol at the federal processing compound in Murrieta was further inflamed yesterday morning by hundreds of college students and radical pro-immigration activists from La Raza, the Communist Revolution Party and other Occupy-linked groups, who were bussed in from Los Angeles and positioned opposite peaceful local Murrieta residents at the front gates of the facility. Confrontational leftist activists were burning American flags and also mutilating a number of small flags that local residents had pinned to the DHS facility fence.

The move to insert outside provocateurs into the mix backfired however, after radical leftists attacked a 70 year old local female Patriot protester. When a local Murrieta police officer intervened in the altercation, left-wing youths then set upon and attacked the officer which ended in ten young radicals being subdued in handcuffs and arrested.

Or you could hire them to combat the gangs in their own country. What they want is a job isn't it?
