Not so open and transparent, eh?

Censorship: 38 journalism groups slam Obama's 'politically-driven suppression of news' | WashingtonExaminer.com

In unprecedented criticism of the White House, 38 journalism groups have assailed the president's team for censoring media coverage, limiting access to top officials and overall “politically-driven suppression of the news.”

The administration has dismissed similar charges from other journalism groups, notably the White House Correspondents’ Association, but the new letter sent Tuesday provided several examples of censorship and efforts to block reporter access. Among them:

• Officials blocking reporters’ requests to talk to specific staff people.
• Excessive delays in answering interview requests that stretch past reporters’ deadlines.
• Officials conveying information "on background" — refusing to give reporters what should be public information unless they agree not to say who is speaking.
• Federal agencies blackballing reporters who write critically of them.

I can't feel too bad for them when they have been suppressing the news for years. They seem to only get upset when things like this happen to them.

They were fawning over him for 5.5 years as the "transparency" slowly disappeared.
Now they see they have been turned into state run media with news fed to them by the WH and they don't like it now.

Too bad. You allowed it to get to where it is today which you don't like now.
Now you live with WH official photographs to use and WH vetted news articles.

We are watching the end of the "American Dream".

It won't be next week.....or, next year.....but, it is the beginning of the end.

The way the news media is being silenced by our immigration and HHS, when they try to visit these immigrant processing centers, it looks more like our government is modeling itself after the government of Communist China.

Oklahoma Representative Jim Bridenstine compares U.S. border facility access to 'former Soviet Union' | Red Alert Politics

“Interestingly they also had a media day on the 10th, and during that media day they sent out an e-mail in Oklahoma and I think across the nation and they said the media can come. It will be a 40-minute tour, but you can’t ask questions. You can’t talk to the staff. You can’t talk to the medical doctors. You can’t talk to the children. If you would like to take pictures, you can’t do that, but we’ll send pictures to you,” Bridenstine said in an appearance on CNN’s New Day Tuesday morning.

“This is the kind of media they had in the former Soviet Union,” he continued. “This is not the kind of unfettered access that we expect in the United States, especially if the president is going to ask us for $2 billion.”

I don't disagree. But the MSM allowed this to happen starting with Day 1 of Obama's Presidency.
And over time the WH shrouded more and more.
It's to where the press is fed by the WH rather than the press seeking out news.

They made their bed and now don't like what it has turned into.

Give up power and you will NEVER get it back.

I know it's the partisan thing to do to run to the internet screaming about everything you read, but have any of you looked at the 38 groups? Looked at if this administration is doing anything different than other administrations?

Some of the things they're talking about have been around since there's been a press corps. Of course, why look into some facts if it gets in your way of Obama Derangement Syndrome. Summer will end in the fall. Totally Obama's fault.
