Terrorists don't come across the southern border. They come through Canada and they use passports and Student visas. Where the hell have you been? The Age of Zapata ended decades ago.
The governor of Texas has publicly stated that he doesn't want a fence. Texas is the state with the largest southern border in the nation. It takes two days, doing the speed limit, just to get across the state.

There's an easy was to do immigration reform. Annex the rest of of Mexico. Guatemala is a much shorter border to patrol then Mexico's current. And think of all the people that will be uplifted at one time while also all the tax revenues from the company's that left America that now will have to pay minimum wage.

Think outside the box....

What would make them self deport and not cost us a dime!

Go after the employers, with seizure of all business and personal assets.

Finally...........there is a sliver of common sense and a soupcon of consensus.
So you acknowledge that the current issue isn't a deliberate attempt by Obama to flood the country with little brown children but there is, in fact, a humanitarian crisis in central America that is causing the flood.

The problem could be solved to everybody's satisfaction if congress would get off their ass, do their job and craft an immigration reform bill..

Regardless of the purpose of the wall it must be conceeded that an effective border barrier must be sufficently fearsome to deter people from trying to cross it. The US-Mexican border would have to be like the Berlin Wall in urban areas and the Iron Curtin elsewhare to be effective and to get the message across to people hundreds would have to be killed by our border security forces. We are rather like the British in the immediate postwar years trying to keep unwanted Jewish refugees from going to Palestine and find themselves in the embarassing position of having to build internment camps for tens of thousands of people similar to concentration camps in Cyprus to hold those trying to sneak in to Palestine ! This lead to terrotism against British forces, unwelcome comparisions to the Nazis and eventually Britain washed their hands of the whole mess that has grown and metasticized in the Middle East we know and love since then. We can also make a comparable mess in the Western Hemisphere and build a future that will haunt us for all times. The only question is are we as dumb as the British?

Right Wing Fantasy. Way too many problems.

It will never go through the legislature. Far too much business resistance. Nothing is going to fly without "knowingly hires" in the description of the offense.

Might get everify required but that is easily beaten by known techniques. ie BIL ss number.

If the regular employers are successfully stopped they go to subcontractor situations. Works in all sorts of industries...construction, landscaping, janitorial, strip club dancers, RE Agents, Fed EX drivers. Could stop this by banning independent subcontractors. However that is another legislative battle that won't be won.

Bottom of the line the illegals can survive anything you can throw at them short of a dragnet deportation.

You keep repeating that as if it was a valid argument, but it's not.

I asked you a question several times, but no answer. Do you, or do you not want to give this president a blank check to build a 1000 mile fence and employ as many federal workers as he sees fit to stop illegal immigration?
