DUDE!!! It wasn't Reagan's amnesty, it was Tip O'neill's amnesty.

To put that bill through is like the tail wagging the dog. Hell, the $3.85B, Obama just got yesterday, doesn't even go to the border, but to illegals already here. It's smoke and mirrors, and the Pubs aren't falling for the same scam. Thank God... Obama is finally going to have to do something himself!

When you read the bill thoroughly, it clearly states that the border must be secure first before dealing with any aspect of those illegals already here.
So, fence first.........illegals second. Exactly what the republicans are screaming about now.

Just protect the dadgummed border. Period. The Constitution requires that.

Problem is, Barry won't do it and will block any hint of doing so. Forget that he won't work with Congress.

I am pretty sure the republicans are screaming about securing the border and demonstating the border is secure BEFORE we pass any immigration bill.

Do you have any idea how much the political, immigration and economic landscape has changed since 1986? That's 30 years and 5 presidents! three of them Republican. Any one of them could have enforced the Reagan immigration reform bill at any time. The problem then, and the problem now is they passed a bill but Congress didn't fund it enough to be effective.
Now, same, same. No money from Congress. Just yelling at the president to do something while they tie his hands behind his back.

He doesn't need money from congress to secure the border.

you know sometimes, i think barry sits around reading the Constitution to figure out how many ways he can spit on it, defy it, and generally do exactly opposite of what it says without getting called out.

We need to start calling this "reform" by its true name - AMNESTY.

How much will THAT cost us as a country?

Only Congress can authorize it, and the poster in question (not you) says there is no need for bills to authorize the money, so I ask if he is talking about a blank check.

Do you want to answer for him, because he sure isn't answering it?

They want the fence, but refuse to pay for it.
It was already paid for. There was money voted on in 2006 (I believe) to build a fence. Now all these years later, and Obama hasn't done his job. Which is to allocate those funds.
