Your Democrat Party has instructed the Department of Defense to hand out pink slips even to those serving in combat units in Iraq and Afghanistan. We are especially dismissing from the service those who have been in the military for ten or better years, have served three to five tours in Iraq and Afghanistan and have achieved the rank of Captain. We will gut the military and move to have United Nations troops assume the duties our own military are presently performing. This move is a cost saving measure which will allow us to offer even more entitlement programs to our ever growing in dependency voter pool.

Should we win the house in the upcoming election and retain the Senate, we will move to tear down the fence at the US - Mexican border and open our borders to free and unfettered immigration, thus assuring a continuous influx of unskilled people into our county. We will immediately fast track their citizenship, place them on food stamps and other entitlement programs and secure the Democrat Party's position at the helm of the government.

Let me guess, you failed to engage yourself and look to see that taxes for the wealthy were cut in half while the working class got a smaller cut. How is that fair? Your tactic of using 3rd grade name calling isn't a credible argument, but knowledge and education are clearly lacking.

I will warn you that derogatory terms against individuals isn't tolerated on CD, so be careful with that.

I'm all for cutting budgets and taxes, but don't give half to some and not to others. I supported the sequester and then they gave it back. I don't blindly follow a party line.

Can you back up this claim of layoffs with a credible source? I just read Robert Gates book and he claims he was well supported by Obama, and Bush. Budgets were increased annually. However, he did mention that was a lack of foresight into the amount of sick and injured coming back. Do you think we should not support these Vets?

Mostly your posts come across as regurgitated media bias. Do you think we should let Americans starve? I'm proud to be well off enough to help others, but wonder why my tax dollars are given to corporations. Do you support this corporate socialism?

Interesting that the article states it doesn't have the information as to who this guy voted for.

But be that as it may, having voter ID would have prevented this guy, or anyone else trying to "fix" an election, from being able to vote multiple times. So wonder why Eric Holder and the rest of the left-wing liberals are so dead set against voter identification??"

Harry Reid lives at the Ritz Carlton in DC. If he gets food stamps he probably spends them at Whole Foods.

Last I checked, we had secret ballots in this country. Has that changed?

Obama can only ask for change, but congress must do it. Congress hasn't done much lately.
I just have to say it and I usually don't because it is disrespectful but, I don't our president has got the truth and honesty in him.

I am pushing my representatives to not vote for illegal immigration and other things pretaining to that subject. Because I don't want it and a lot of people don't want it either. My representatives are apparantly listening to people like me, at least until after the elections.....<s> The current presidential request for almost 4 billion is a sham because he isn't trustworthy to deal with honor and most thinking people know that.

You think the IRS and the tea party debacle was proud and good ? Do you think the people that let down the dead Americans in Benghazi are proud and good ? Do you think Fast and Furious was a proud and good moment in this administration ? How about the VA ? That one is a real toe tapper, isn't it ?
All courtesy of our proud and good government.

Sorry. Just writing about these things make my blood boil. And someone was right. I don't guess we should be talking politics but I don't know how you can help it with the subject matter.

the post regarding some veterans getting pink slips, even after they have been transferred to another post, signed leases, etc. That has been in the news within the last couple of weeks. A can't remember all the details but I will try and find it.

Ever since the 1950s the ultra-rich have been paying less and less taxes. Anyway, one way to reduce "handouts" is to force companies like Wal-Mart to give enough of a salary so the employees make minimum wage and do not need to take welfare

Those who tend to occupy the highest positions of power tend to lack truth and honesty.

I agree. Why should taxpayers be subsidizing the employee expenses for Walmart or any other corporation?

Read once that Walmart profits for one quarter if paid out in salaries to the lowest earning workers would eliminate their eligibility for food stamps and other government subsidizes.

The working poor account for a large percentage of the those receiving welfare, food stamps, subsidized medical care.

I've seen this topic discussed on several threads. Soon there will be posts on how instead of raising the minimum wage, the working poor should be pulling themselves up by their bootstraps, taking community college courses, working themselves up to management positions, etc. Posts on how these are entry level positions. Mostly students working for spending money, you know. If the minimum wage is raised employers will hire fewer workers, switch to automated processes. We'll all pay more for goods and services.

Then it is pointed out that prices will go up to the true cost of goods and services. Why should taxpayers be subsidizing other people's hamburgers and fries or anything else for that matter?

These "entry-level" jobs are honorable work and held by people of all ages. To say they should be underpaid because they aren't able to pull themselves up or that they are students is ridiculous. If it is honorable work, then it should be worth a decent wage.

And to say employers will hire fewer workers if they had to pay decent wages is nonsense. Employers hire the number of people they need to get the work done. Regardless of how low a wage they can get by with paying, they don't hire extra folks if they don't have work that needs to be done.

All those who think there are far too many people getting handouts need to press their elected representatives to raise the minimum wage to a living wage.

That would solve a good part of the problem.

With jobs being made redundant through automation and outsourcing tons of people living off "handouts" will be the norm. In the future it might be called basic income instead of welfare or handouts.
