I agree with Paul and vote either Republican or Libertarian. We need to leave the rest of the world to their own devices of destruction and ethnic cleansing.

Look, Perry is playing the numbers.

Like it or not, about 75% of Republican elected officials supported the first Iraq war, and most of those would vote to authorize more troops in Iraq now.

While Paul speaks to a vocal 25% of Republicans, and a lot of independents and Democrats, its the primary game Perry is playing.

Hey, it could backfire, but thats Perrys game. He is preaching to the choir, and most of the time, they determine the candidate.

Quite a few have backtracked on going into Iraq though.

Rick Perry? Buffoon.
Not necessarily.
Rand Paul, like Reagan, doesn't tip his hand to the enemies when it comes to foreign affairs. What he does say is he wont necessarily take anything off the table.
"What America needs today is a Commander-in-Chief who will defend the country and project strength, but who is also not eager for war."

Yeah, but I want that stuff off the table.

Well, in all fairness I'm sure their kickbacks come from different places so being in exact agreement on where to stick their noses isn't likely.

The slight chance that Rand may or may not have will be destroyed by his base. They remind people of how crazy Rand is, just like they reminded everyone of how crazy his old man was.

Thats true, then in the next breath they'll say that we can't leave though. Oops, we screwed up, can't turn around though.

Here's the op-ed that Paul is responding to:

Isolationist policies make the threat of terrorism even greater - The Washington Post

It's less against the current administration than a first salvo fired in the upcoming fight for the GOP Presidential nomination.
