Can't speak for anyone else, but I don't see myself as "picking a side" when I say that desertion/treason are crimes that need a trial on the evidence to prove. Also, that there are very good strategic reasons to get american soldiers held by the enemy to be returned, regardless of how they came to be in enemy hands.
In my understanding of military law and practice, these are longstanding principles that predate bergdahl, and I support them.
Please tell me why you think those are not good principles.
