And how would those thriving public schools that now would receive no money continue to thrive?
If you were to use what was proposed in PA not only would good public schools continue to receive their funding they could see it increase if they were able to attract more students.

Larger class sizes do not equal better preforming schools. All this would do is overcrowd a school.
Well for starters, it doesn't do anything to help the school that is failing it just removes a student from that school. How does removing students fix a problem?
Half the budgets for schools in PA are funded by the state the other is local. The voucher would have been only good for the state funding. They would have lost a student and their state funding but since they still have the local funding the amount of money they have per student would increase.

You can't possibly be that dense. More funding equals more teachers in those schools and if you want to continue to attract students you're going to have to keep performance levels up.
So now you think there should still be public schools?
The good public schools would thrive. If parents can use their vouchers for a school they choose it would certainly invest the parents in education. I have seen studies that show a good school has good parental involvement . If a parent choses a weaker school for maybe location reasons there is a chance they will come more involved

If that is the case, then why isn't the same amount of funding working in the failing school. Also what if the school the students are being sent to have no more room for extra students or classrooms? Then you are talking expensive expansions at schools with money that could have gone to education.
It makes more sense to fix the problems at hand than to shuffle things around to make yourself feel better.

So basically you don't want to change anything about how the school system currently functions?

Honesty question because I do not know the answer. But despite words of some Democrats, it seems clear their actions show they are not in favor of these things. School choice and vouchers are good for low income people. So just why exactly does it appear the Dems are against it?
I am not a Dem but will answer why I am against them in general. It is because that seems to be the only answer the Cons can come up with when it comes to education and the result would be to leave Millions of American Children in inferior schools getting an inferior education, that is Not the answer to the education issue. I have no problem with vouchers in some cases, but before we run off and start writing checks we need to fix the problem in our public schools and if that is done fewer people would even be interested in vouchers and sending their children to private schools. Cons used to be proud of themselves for being conservative, beacuse that meant they fixed what was broken and did not just discard something if it was not operating properly, yet here we are with a broken public school system and their answer is to abandon it on the side of the road and go to another system that only serves a select few, that is not how I define a conservative. The answer is to fix the problem, unfortunately that will take effort and money and it seems no one is interested in putting in the effort or money but instead would rather spend our time arguing that any idea but our own is acceptable and in the process nothing gets done. At this rate the US will be headed for third world status in the next 50 years, thank God I will not be here to see it.
