Wonderful perspective some people have.
He didn't wander too close to the dog. He hugged it. World of difference.

In this case the culprit was neither the dog or the owner, it was the irresponsible paremts who either left a very young child unsupervised or allowed the kid to invade the space of a confined dog who was threatened.

Actually, he didn't hug the dog. He may have wanted to but he didn't. Witnesses are saying that the toddler was walking towards the dog and the dog was barking growling and lunging. The dog pulled out of it's harness and attacked the toddler. The witnesses were interviewed by the local news. The dog's owner was interviewed as well from jail.

If you consider a parking lot your neighborhood. What moron lets their toddler hug an unattended pit bull?

Don't you think that it is a bad idea to let a toddler approach a barking, growling dog?

If no one was watching the kid, then why not?

This travesty is another of example of liberals blaming everything but the real culprit.

If you read any of my other replies in this thread besides the one you are responding to (which was just clarifying what actually occurred according to witnesses) you would know that I don't think it is ever a good idea to let a toddler approach any dog that is tied up or without it's owner around to ask, especially one that is barking and growling. The parents of the toddler were irresponsible as was the owner of the pit bull and they both share some blame in this situation. The dog owner is in jail on misdemeanor charges, probably because it is against the law to leave a dog tied up to a pole without supervision (it breaks leash laws) and there is also a "breed ban" in Commerce City where the attack took place.

Both laws are examples of liberal overreach.

Besides, Harrier thought that liberals were against bans.

Equality, right?

In San Francisco they've banned the bums.

ok then. I am not in favor of breed bans. I'm just noting what the laws are. I'm not a liberal.
