I went back and re-read all the posts... Who is "protecting and defending" the KKK? I see people here defending the right of free speech, but nobody standing in defense of the KKK. All that has been said is free speech is for everyone, not just those of a particular mindset. If you deny free speech to one, then all are in peril of losing it.

The KKK are a bunch of vile, inbred, scumbags, but they have the right to say whatever they want. Speech is very subjective. If you take away theirs today, tomorrow someone may come along and justify taking away yours.
In the article I saw it looked like they were giving away hard candy...come on, if you want to recruit everyone knows you have to spring for the Snickers and Peanut Butter cups.

apparently the KKK is handing out candy to residents in NW south Carolina with a piece of paper attached asking to join their movement. This is an example of freedom of speech going wrong. There should have been an amendment done years ago.

The 1st Amendment is a means to protect all speech including unpopualr speech.

The Democrat and Republican parties do the same thing, they just call it "federal spending."
The message of the KKK is no more or less vile than the one either major party spews every day. All of them are power hungry sociopaths, the KKK are just more open and forward about it, plus they wear a uniform so you can more easily identify and subsequently avoid them.
