Thats 362 dollars a week take home.

It takes about 400 a month to feed my family of 4. So you're down 25% of your income for food straight out of the gate. Don't forget rent, usually around 5 to 600 a month even for small places. Electricity runs about 100 a month, water about the same.

Now we're down to abut 350 a month. Now fuel. Now clothes. Now if you need internet for your kids to do school work, almost mandatory now. Now a car payment, 200 a month. Now insurance for that car. Have to have a car and insurance to get to work in most places.

The point is, 1800 a month, before taxes, isn't that much to live on.
No kidding.

Aside from the abuse (which we all know goes on), I don't have an issue with it. If they are a citizen and it's on the up and up - fine. The illegal immigrant part is bull **** though, we need to take care of our own people.

Easter candy is sweetened with sugar. Sugar comes from lots of sources, sugar cane, beets, and yes, corn.
It's the middle man and the banks that get the "food money" from the government.

Gone are the days when the USDA bought directly from the farmer.
Now they sell to the middleman.

Did you know that more speculators own grain silos in the US than actual agribusiness people ?

The Fed has exceptions to allow illegals to qualify.
And states are free to add their own money and pay for these benefits for illegals.

Really? Cite them. That apply to illegals. Specifically. Not legal aliens, but illegals. Go ahead, I will wait.

Does that mean blacks and illegals?

There is a 5 year bar for immigrants before they can receive welfare. I don't know why people think immigrants are getting so much in food stamps-the majority of recipients are AMERICAN children and the elderly.

Yet another SNAP hating thread. Yippee.

I wish conservatives hold up their end of the bargain when they talk about all the other waste in government. Makes me think that you hate the thought of people not going hungry.

Sigh.

An exception is made for human trafficking victims, Hmong, and Laotian tribe members.

Believe it or not, but a lot of food stampers have a J-O-B, but they don't get paid as much as you. As a matter of facts many of them have two J-O-Bs, but still don't make much.
