in a place well known for aircraft being shot down on a routine basis? jesus, don't they read the news? the war is only being covered 24 hours a day by every TV station and newspaper in the world. they're either stupid or ignorant if they think they are safe just because they are at cruising altitude. its common knowledge that surface to air missiles can easily take down an airplane at cruising altitude.
what the hell were they thinking? stupid pilot, stupid airline.
People saw a bright object going up towards TWA Flight 800 prior to its explosion on July 17, 1996, when Bill Clinton was president and Hillary was the First Lady.
That airline needs to be shut down. First a they crash land in San Francisco, then they crash in the ocean, and now this...
That was Asiana Airlines Flight 214 that hit the seawall at SFO.
No one knows what happened to Malaysian Airlines Flight 370.
MH17 did crash in Ukraine.
Sheesh, you liberals were criticizing President Bush in 1999 when he was asked to name heads of state for obscure countries while he was only a presidential candidate, yet liberals apparently don't know the difference between South Korea and Malaysia.

agree. the people running that airline are not very competent, and don't seem to have much common sense. I think the execs ought to be prosecuted for negligent homicide and putting their passengers lives in serious danger.

Harrier doesn't agree with the decision - he is simply stating the reason why the airline stayed on that route despite warnings.
I know you were being sarcastic.

You might ask Captain Smith why he drove Titanic full speed through a known ice field which he had been warned about multiple times that day.
Same reason.
Well then the airline is doubly stupid if they haven't learned anything from the Titanic disaster.
Some things are just not worth the risk just a to save a bit of time.

Who said anything about Asiana? My OP refers only to the Malaysian airplane that was shot down. and yes, imo Malaysian Airlines should be shut down. but after this they will probably just go out of business on their own. what person in their right mind would want to fly with them now?
