Leaders of other countries can demand all they want but it doesn't mean it's going to happen. So then what. Should we go to war over this.

I agree. East of the Dnieper River is part of Russia and west of the Dnieper is really part of Europe. Have free travel between the two and life could go on.
The US is generally smart enough not to hand out serious weaponry. Stingers are about as high-tech as it gets. And while they're a pain in and off themselves, they're not taking out airliners at cruise altitude.
(Apart from Blessed St. Reagan, PBUH, who found it worthwhile to use actual US assets to support Iraq in the Iran-Iraq war - and supply the Iranians with TOW missiles. But "smart" and "Reagan" are rarely used in the same sentence for a reason.)
Some pretty serious weaponry like a wing of F-14 aircraft (The Top Gun Plane) were left at their bases in Iran when the Shah fled to Egypt in 1978. The same thing happened in 1975 when the North Vietnamese came knocking on the door of the US Saigon Embassy in 1975. Several billion dollars of US made weapons had the old RVN logo painted over with the DRV Stars. This also happened in Ethiopia in 1976 when Haile Selassie was overthrown.

In a perfect world, yes. However, Obama is currently our commander in chief and he's a lousy poker player.
