Social Security kicking butts!

Surveillance catches people in the act of defrauding a disability fund | fox4kc.com

Surveillance catches people in the act of defrauding disability fund

A relatively new program that’s run by the Office of the Inspector General for Social Security already has saved local taxpayers more than $45 million.

Each year the United States gives more than $175 billion in Social Security funds to people on disability. But the Kansas City Cooperative Disability Investigations, or CDI program, says not everyone applying for, or getting a piece of that money, is disabled.

And it’s got the undercover video to prove it.

“There’s always fraud involved when there’s money being handed out,” said Troy Turk.

Why is this here. I think everyone approves of catching people defrauding that....so its not exactly controversial. Nor is it political.

We should have a "good news" section for things like this.

If you get caught doing something like this you should be barred for life from receiving any type of government benefit, including tax deductions and credits.

I have a friend on SSI.....and she IS disabled.....that being said.....she does have some good days.

And on those good days she most likely will do to much and be in awful pain the next day.

Just because you see her do a little bit....does not mean she could do it every day to support herself.

I am sure there is fraud....but, just a few seconds does not tell the whole story.

That is how my dad was, but he was old enough to get SS, when it all started to go south.
