I'm struggling with this one. Favourite themes amongst conservatives include fiscal responsibility, government expenses and personal freedom. Yet most republicans seem perfectly okay with socialized forced mass medication at the taxpayers expense

Interesting take on the "fluoridation is the Devil" meme. Surprised you didn't mention vaccinations.

Much of it is due to ignorance and apathy. But then others are sold on the belief that fluoridation is all good for your teeth and does no harm to the human body. However, in my case, I'm too lazy to circulate a petition in my town calling upon citizens to vote on ending fluoridation. I have no influence in my town, anyway. Interesting how the town sees fit to fluoridate its water, but the local university sees fit not to.

I personally find it wrong. I have my own well so it doesn't affect me which is why I probably am not proactive in regard to this issue.

If repubs stood a unified stand against flouridation, the Dems would claim they hate women and children, the poor and the middle class.

Probably the same reason Republicans are ok with government-funded sewer systems instead of the cheaper "just go on the side of the road" method used in other countries?

Also called common sense.

"why aren't republicans up in arms about water fluoridation?"

Because Republicans are not insane.

That's good to hear.
Have they finally kicked the insane people out?

So it would be insane to end fluoridation, and if you still want it, choose to get your own dose of fluoride by using toothpaste with fluoride in it?

In the highly Republican state of Oklahoma, doing the latter is the same as a sex crime and could get you sent to prison.
