They need to do away with Hamas. Unfortunately, Hamas uses innocents to shield themselves with. Hamas is heinous.

Everyone in Gaza does not agree with Hamas.

Hamas has also been power-hungry and short-sighted, but that doesn't give Israel the right to commit war crimes and kill hundreds of innocent civilians and children.

Latest fatality count :

Palestinians - 469 mostly civilians, and ~ 20 % children

Israelis - 20 almost all military

It's up to Palestinians to say no to Hamas when Hamas tells them to behave as shields for Hamas. Israel cannot force Palestinians to stop being shields for Hamas. Your suggestion makes no sense.

"The onus remains on the occupying power, Israel. Much of its complaints about the Palestinians, whether real or imagined, are primarily a by-product of its occupation and dispossession of their national rights, not the opposite.

That's why a ceasefire must go beyond curtailing Israel's firepower to lift the siege on Gaza and pave the way for negotiations based on fairness not power; on legality not force.

It's high time to forego the killing and destruction in favour of a peace agreement. Unlike war, peace need not be a zero-sum game"

This human shield stuff is propaganda, and Americans are swallowing it hook line and sinker. How can you get out of the way of a bomb or shelling when there is nowhere to go?

The entire Gaza strip is from 3 to 5 miles wide and 25 miles long. The 1.8 million residents are trapped, with no exit, and being bombarded by air, sea, and land. They have nowhere to go to be safe. Hamas isn't hiding behind them, it's amongst them. Hamas is not a terrorist group, it is a political party voted into power.

Oh there definitely is propaganda. No doubt about it. It's propaganda created by Hamas and promoted by Hamas-lovers who enjoy creating a show. Hamas is asking the Palestinians to be their shields, and western Hamas-lovers are really enjoying that, instead of asking Hamas to stop it.

No one is "asking" or requesting anything of the residents of Hamas. No one is consulting them. They are attempting to stay alive and keep their families safe in the face of an over-whelming military assault.

Four hundred and sixty-nine dead Palestinians , thousands injured, mostly civilian, and 20 Israeli fatalities, all but one were military ---- how can this be fair or right? This is a massacre, not justice. It's not peace-seeking, it's an assault and war crime.

Hamas is a terrorist group. Stop referring to them as if they were the Palestinian people. They are a terrorist group using Palestinian as tools.
