If there were any truth in this comment then what LexusNexus typed would be true, but its not. Using the word "children" means nothing at this point since the ones actually fighting are teenagers. So You might as well say "babies" because that is actually happening and there is nothing that can be done about it. " If you set up a rocket launcher and snipers in the top floor of a Hospital, then that top floor becomes an Israeli target. Look at all the photos online. Israel only fired at that top floor when they could have simply flattened the entire building and they did not. Schools; storing rockets in the basement of school does not make that school a safe location for the people.

Why isn't it their land? They taught a war for it and won. You going to tell every country in north and South America to give their land back to the natives? Or all the Arab and European countries to give their land back to the Jews they expelled over and over?

Their land? There never was a sovereign Palestinian state to begin with. Historically, Israel is the 3rd Jewish state to have existed in the region.

It all belongs to Israel, forget about any mandate. There was a war in 1948 and by late 1949 the Arabs LOST. That's it. End of story. There are no "do overs" for losing a war. Had another war in 1967 and the Arabs LOST again. It all belongs to Israel. If the current Arabs want it then fight for it, but don't expect it to be simply given to them because they lost all the wars and are now crying foul.

Over the years and even decades there has been hardly a whimper of the tens of thousands and hundreds of thousands of innocent Arab civilians killed by Arab governments, Arab insurgents, and Muslim Jihadists in every single country in that entire region. Doesn't anyone remember the brutal and devastating civil war in Lebanon? What about Tunisia, Libya, Algeria, Yemen, Egypt and Syria?
I believe Israel is not at war with the Palestinians per se, the majority of whom live in the West Bank also known as Judea and Samaria ... Israel is at war with HAMAS. Hamas controls the Gaza Strip and has fired over 2,000 rockets into Israel. Israel is not supposed to respond?

Lets get back to here and now: why is Hamas (and the good fella) firing rockets and reject any cease fire agreement? As I understand, there are civilian casualties and extended destruction. Why not spare their people's lives and misery? Actually they don't need any agreement, just stop shooting.
They live in a prison-they have no where to go....
Of their own making. They, in Gaza, made their choice of either building an economy or becoming terrorists. They chose the latter. Israel built a wire fence and Egypt built a Iron Wall. Maybe Israel can get Egypt to surround Gaza with the Iron Wall then it actually can LOOK like a prison.
Sure doesn't look like they are attempting to keep civilian casualties at a minimum, completely destroying an entire neighborhood because of rockets fired is not surgical. They are not going to look good when the ends.
War is not about "looking good". That is why so many US troops died in Iraq. Somebody shoots a mortar you blow up the entire block. That gets the message sent. Liberal "war" is about being nice to the enemy though they don't care. So it goes.............
Another false assumption (boy, there are lots on this thread!) : Israel is treating "wounded Hamas fighters" (as opposed to killing them as they usually do), and so this somehow "justifies" the occupation. Right..
As terrorists should be killed. Why do you support terrorists?
Occupation? Jews got dumped there and the entire arab world attacked them and tried to kill them. You ever heard of history?
