No we are not. What is clear is that we have withdrawn on the world stage as a world leader. Even our allies no longer have faith in us. Putin has seized the moment to step up to the plate and cause Russia to fill the void left by the United States. Even Germany and France will not support sanctions against Russia. We have lost our status as a super power and the leader in world affairs.

I believe that we do know but are stuggling with what to do about it without causing a war.

This will probably be handled in a covert manner so that the situation will slowly fade away from people's memories.

It's in the news 24 hours per day here in America, so even though it's "not our problem", the media seems to think it is.

If Obama doesn't keep his mouth shut we may be headed into some sort of a conflict with Russia. He continues to insult and degrade Putin along with his Secretary of State on a near daily basis. Obama is too inexperienced to be on the world stage, he thinks he can use street organizer tactics and he is messing with the "big boys"

Because its still world news. I'm sure other parts of the world show stuff about the US on their news if something major happens here. That doesn't mean they want to get involved.

Are we headed towards Cold War?

No I don't think so. I don't see Putin toeing the Party line and returning to the old Soviet days. I see him more like a Hitler, in that he seem to be a megalomaniac.

There's no one to challenge him. He knows he can do whatever he wants.

I caught some MSNBC this evening during talks about Putin, they were talking about how Europe is about to put the hammer down on Russia, the concern being that Putin is crouched and in a defensive position and how he would react to the hammer...
