Humans lie.

Definitive fact. Based on stats, the average human lies between 10 and 200 times per day, on average.

When I was younger, yes, I cared. Infidelity could and would affect my vote, in part because I thought it reflected a persons integrity.

Now a days however, I don't give one wit. I don't believe what someone does in their bedroom, even if it means lying to a spouse, indicates fitness for a job. Every candidate and politician out there lies, backtracks and panders for votes. They prostitute themselves for money, causes and votes.

If we know this. If we know this is how the system of politics works, I fail to see how someone cheating reveals anything we didn't already know. How they handle it after can but the act of? Meh. Personally, I think all the gasping over cheating has more to do with our continued sexual hangups than anything else.

Shouldn't we at least hope for the opportunity to put someone better than average in the White House? At least I used to think that was the case, now it seems no one who'd actually be worthy of the job wants it.

I've always been amazed by some of those I've played golf with who can take 7 strokes, write down 5, and absolutely convince themselves it's the truth. It's absolutely beyond my ability to understand how someone can lie to themselves and believe that lie to be the truth.

A human wants to think s/he is a good person. And will self-lie in order to do it.

It's the kind of critter that we are. We all do it, and we don't consciously know we're doing it. IMO, it means we should be less judgmental about each other, and more concerned about our own blind spots.

I personally could care less about a political candidate's sex life and vote for a candidate based on issues not his/her personal life, weight, age, ethnicity, gender or looks. Unless someone lived in a cave, was a nerd, or was a Mormon, there are skeletons in everyone's closet.

I'm not interested in discussing Hillary's husband's alleged mistress. I'm curious how much importance you as a voter place on a presidential candidate's personal life when deciding to vote for him/her?
Agreed completely, actually.

I don't care what goes on in a person's personal life. It's their political life that I actually pay attention to.

If a politician wants to hike the Appalachian Trail, that is their business.

Personally I could care less what people do in the privacy of their own home. But as someone who could be our President, this does matter to me.

Because it becomes a question of not only someone's integrity, but their character, and trust worthiness. And it just might effect the job at hand.

Politicians are entitled to a private life, but guess what? a politician does not have a private life! it becomes our business.

I am someone who believes in the integrity of a person chosen who might be running our Country. Integrity not only at home, but also abroad. I believe in truth over lies any day, and no matter how hard truth is, I respect that. I do not respect lies, deceit, and someone who constantly blames others.

I want someone who not only reflects his own ideals, but can have some middle ground with other ideals, and someone who does not put others down, for their belief. Hate that with a friggin passion.

I want someone who is respectful, and not a bullish person in nature. No I do not want another Obama, twice is enough Thank You.

No. If he had a mistress/lover, that would probably raise my opinion of him, actually.

I really don't care what they do in their private lives. Besides, many presidents had lovers on the side. Just look at Jefferson.....first one that popped into mind.
