I think the post was facetious.

Ok...let's not say "create."

But they damn sure sponsored and facilitated Hamas' rise in a pretty cynical ploy to blunt the PLO.

So Israel is largely responsible for their existence and predominance in Gaza.

Yeah...unintended consequences, but consequences nonetheless.

Which is why the U.S. should stay out of it.

Yeah, the enemy of my enemy strategy has been a major flaw in our approach to the middle east. we have been bitten by that many times and we keep doing the same thing expecting the people we help to like us.

There has been a blockade in effect for several years now.

Obviously they did bring building materials into Gaza and instead of building up their infrastructure, they built underground attack tunnels to be used for mass murder and kidnapping of Israeli citizens.

Why do think Israel is largely responsible for Hamas existence and predominance in Gaza? Is it because Israel vacated Gaza in 2005 and then Hamas got elected into power in 2006 forming a joint government with Fatah and then ousting Fatah from Gaza in 2007?!

You don't know much about the conflict, do you?
1) everyone can leave Gaza and is encouraged to do so (although now its impossible because the war). Less population in the most crowded place is a boon to all.
2) the building materials imported from Israel (concrete) were used not for humanitarian purposes, but for building an amazing maze of war tunnels. Why should they be allowed to do so?

Back to OP: it is stupid to claim US is responsible in any way for establishing Hamas. Just another inane declaration from the doctor.

Guess you forgot about the Israelis boarding the aid ship(from Iran) and the big fiasco it cause in the media.
