It's not a case of people already living in Colorado blowing their rent money on pot but rather, people moving to Colorado because of legal pot. Some of those people happen to be homeless or some of those people become homeless. Denver in particular is an expensive place to live. If we legalized marijuana everywhere, it would solve this problem immediately because people wouldn't be leaving their home states to seek out legal marijuana.
So one shelter says that last summer they housed 225 homeless per night but this summer they house 300 homeless per night, and that an "informal survey" indicated 25% of the increase was "related to" marijuana.
That convinces me - homelessness is rising in Colorado and the cause is marijuana.

So all that money CO generated on dope tax will be spent on those dopers creating the problem on top of taxpayer money.
Nice.
At least all the dope heads are concentrated in one location.
Dude, I need my money for dope, not for rent. HUH HUH HUH HUH!!!
Nobody ever missed their rent for pot! You'll find that most homeless shelters are filled with alcoholics more than anyone else.
It isn't like Vinnie Barbarino's interpretation of a drug addict "give me drugs, give me drugs"
Pot heads tend to be quite active, creative, and actually excel at their endeavors, unlike alcoholics. About the only thing they really need are fast food joints open late!
Some people 'see' little green men living on the moon. That doesn't mean it's reality.
People had plenty of access to that plant before the stupid laws on it were removed in Colorado. I guess you didn't stop to think about that before you made the thread.
