There's nothing more thought stimulating than a good political discussion. That holds true especially when there are disagreeing positions (true diversity). However, we've seen an increase in the deep political divide in America. No where is this more evident than on this forum. Unfortunately sometimes this discord seems to lead to a VERY unproductive line of discussion resulting in name calling and personal attacks.

Really people, does name calling and personal attacks in any way further an argument? In my opinion it reflects very negatively on any position held. Such a tactic is most often used by those who cannot argue facts to support an opinion. It is a reflection of ignorance.

We can do better!

Perhaps if there were some central power that could delete posts that are baseless, unproven, or purely conjecture, you wouldn't have that kind of thing happening.

There's no name calling when people are actually debating. What most people here do is just troll and whine blindly and that holds true for partisans on here of all varieties.
