The terrorist cowards use children for shields.. that is how despicable they are.. they will do anything, harm anyone to win. They have no rules.
How can one fight a war without killing anyone? They will just get more bombs, more missiles and kill us. And they don't declare war. They sneak around and attack with surprise at anyone.. citizens, children, babies , anyone.. they are not selective who they kill.
The people of Gaza put Hamas in charge... I guess Hamas has their version of FOX "news" in operation there.
I don't understand modern war. American keeps telling Israel that it needs to stop fighting Hamas and pull out it's troops before the job is done. (Why is it our business anyway? Is Mexico telling Israel how to fight against terrorists?)
In WW2, America fought to win the war and kept bombing and killing people, including thousands of civilians until Japan, Germany and Italy lost the will to fight. To kill the Nazi leadership and troops many civilians died. America had to destroy their enemy's will to fight. Israel needs to do the same. Keep fighting until they (Hamas) says Uncle.
Didn't we learn our lesson from Korea and Vietnam that you have to fight a war to win? If Israel is being attacked, let them fight the war until the other side says uncle and they lose their will to keep fighting and lay down their arms. That is how wars ended throughout history.

You can't compare WWII to Vietnam, Iran, Afghanistan or Israel. The closest you can come in modern times would have been the Gulf war which for all intents and purposes was a massive bombing campaign followed up by a mop-up. The rest have been guerrilla wars. There are no armies as such, no columns of troops marching across the country, no uniforms and very loose regimentation. You can't fight a guerrilla war with conventional warfare, you'll never win because you never know who the enemy is. It is interesting to note however that the word "terrorist" has replaced the word "guerrilla" in the media today......a subtle way of telling the people how they should think.
Years ago the word guerrilla was associated with freedom fighters.........but now they're terrrorists? We aren't fighting terrorists in Afghanistan, we're fighting a population that trying to repel a foreign invader. The same is happening in Israel. The Palestinians are fighting for their freedom. The only way Israel could win is to completely eliminate Gaza.....and they still won't win. They'll come from Jordan, they'll come from Syria and Saudi Arabia too and they'll still fight the Jews..........Fighting and killing is not the way that conflict will ever end. The bottom line is, the UN (or allied forces) should have never let the Israelis establish their state there. The area wasn't theirs to give......but that's all water under the bridge now. So how do you make two peoples who have been waging a century old war stop? That's the million dollar question who's only answer at this point is to partition the country.............but good luck with that when neither side will budge an inch. I just wonder that in the process, will the Israelis become the same kind of monsters as the ones that drove them out of Europe in the first place?
Frankly, at this point, I don't care anymore as long as the US stays out of the whole mess.

Just last week the UN Secretary General discussed how horrified he was that not only rockets were being kept in a school, but that they were also whisked away by Hamas before they could be confiscated.

That makes me sick. It's funny, because the same people crying "ISRAEL DESTROY THEM YEAH!!!" are the ones who claim to be "pro-life".
Pro-life people defend the lives of the innocent. The people of Palestine indoctrinate their children from the moment they're born to die for Islam and glorify the deaths of those who die in the process of killing Jews. They aren't innocent. Japan of WW2 had a similar mentality. The people of Japan (not just the military) were fully willing to give their lives for their emperor and nation. It took not one, but two nuclear bombs to get them to surrender.
It would be interesting to see what happens if Israel really just wiped Gaza off the map.
One thing is for sure, it would likely be suicide for their culture. I bet the only place Jews would be relatively safe is the United States, and even here they would be reviled. Without intervention, Israel would be summarily wiped of the map by their neighbors if Israel did something like carpet bombing Gaza.
