Of course it was a setup. The liberal left press bends over backwards to find gotchas on all republicans and conservatives and tea party followers.
Why wasnt the first question "explain your positron on the VA scandal?" or "what is your position the federalization of our schools and our police?" or "what is your position on immigration in general, as opposed to illegal immigration?"
I'm not surprised at the responses so far. To the liberal left in this country, and their allies in the press, anyone who does not toe the liberal left party line is a kook, or an ignoramus, or worse yet, a conservative, who should be mocked and belittled at every opportunity.
I'm willing to bet that if such setups were directed towards democrats, we would find that most of them are weathervanes spouting cliches and talking points. The difference is that they would be praised by their compadres in the press and of course the true believers of the liberal left.
Right, because it's nothing short of unreasonable to ask someone to provide support for their positions.
Her response is priceless. "It was obvious, from the onset of the interview, that Wasserman had planned to jump me simply because I am a Conservative Woman and liberal shills like Dave Wasserman want to destroy us," she wrote.
The interviewer knew exactly what he was doing by asking those questions. She can't say "I don't believe in global warming, and I think Obama is a Kenyan usurper, or whatever," because democrats would jump all over her for being... well, for being crazy. At the same time she can't say that she doesn't think those things because her voter base is... well, kind of crazed. She was put in a no-win situation and she didn't know how to politely dodge the questions.
Of course the interviewer knows what he's doing--all interviewers do. You've seen Obama submit to interviews by Fox journalists knowing he's going to be asked the difficult uncomfortable questions.
So your logic is she could not say what she believes because democrats would criticize her for being crazy because she has no idea why she believes these things? Uh-ok.
And why does anyone answer questions in interviews as they know someone is going to criticize them? Can you imagine an intelligent rational person fleeing an interview when asked to defend their views? Nobody of any substance does that. Can't wait till she gets to a debate, looks blankly at the audience and heads for the hills.

This country is in trouble because of dumb-as-a-post Democrats in control, so pointing fingers may make the left feel good, but won't change anything. We're still on a downward spiral, and it's going to be a hard landing.
ACTUALLY, it is in trouble because both Republicans and Democrats do little these days except point fingers at the other side pointing out "their" faults while at the same time ignoring those same faults withing their own side. One of these days people will learn that they are all Politicians and as such they will say whatever they believe their supporters want to hear (Pandering) of-course making accusations about the other guys does not imply that those making the accusations are any less guilty it is simply done to detract from the fact there is little difference between either side. The US needs a viable New Political Party, one based on Common Sense, doing the job they were hired to do for the people that voted them in and based on the Constitution, unfortunately I do not see that ever happening, the Big Two would do anything in their power to ensure that it never got off the ground.

No, she was smart enough recognize a setup. I think she was expecting a more pertinent and intelligent question. Those kinds of questions come from someone intentionally setting a trap, not one interested in the answer.
Hahahahaha. This woman released a nearly 5 minute political commercial all about global warming. In her add, she calls global warming the "greatest deception in the history of mankind" (invoking George Orwell to do so). She makes the claim that the Earth has been cooling every year for the past decade (saying it's an example of God's sense of irony). She states that proponents of global warming consider ignorance a strength, that believing in global warming is delusional, and that any 10 year old can disprove global warming.
How is asking her why she believes the Earth is cooling not a pertinent question related to her campaign? And considering statements such as 10 year olds are capable of disproving global warming, how is expecting her to be able to answer such a simple question a "setup"?
Averse to fancy book-learnin' things like "science"...check.
Obnoxiously opinionated despite lack of evidence...check.
Dumb as a box of rocks and unable to provide coherent answers supporting her own claims...check.
The future leader of the conservative movement right here! She's even got the "lamestream media" quote down!
FYI, "Palin-style interview" is defined as one where the candidate is far too dumb to provide reasoned answers to simple, straightforward questions.
Reminds me of when Obama has a press conference and runs way instead of answering REAL questions.
