I would love to get rid of the party affiliation designations on all ballots along with straight ticket voting.

I feel too many people vote mostly by party affiliation, and I believe this is causing some of our political problems. I believe that it would also reduce the amount of "blind" voting where people have no clue about the issues or the candidates but vote purely due to the letter following the name.

What do you think?

I think we should. Make voters be more educated about who they vote for. Although Eric Holder argued that it was unfair to blacks for some reason or other.

I think that voting by party affiliation provides voters an idea of a candidate's political ideology. IMO not knowing party affiliation is voting "blind".

I agree, it would be a good move. Also allow other parties in the political process, so tired of Dems and are Repubs.

I'd love to see straight party voting options go away.

God forbid people spend a little bit of time learning about who they vote for.

Getting rid of party affiliation on the ballot is the only chance to get away from a two party system and because of this both parties would fight tooth and nail against making the change.

Hell yes!!! A big part of the blame for the mess in our current government can be blamed on the two party system. I hate to think of all the knee jerk conservatives who are going to go into the polls blind in 2016 and will just vote along party lines because of Obama and vice versa if there are still people out there who approve of him. IMO, voting along party lines is lazy, ignorant and it detracts from the democratic process.

If you do not know who you are voting for then you should not be voting.

I have spent time, for years I researched candidates that were Republicans. the more I read on their ideals the more opposite I found my beliefs were to theirs. you join a party because for the most part they represent your values and ideals. the designation cuts through the crap for the most part.
