Just like the title of the thread implies: Barack Obama's failed Presidency is the perfect illustration of how it really does not matter which party wins the Presidential election. EVERYTHING hinges on Congress, and without a willing Congress, the President might as well not even exist.

Barack Obama is a failed leader. Had he cultivated a real, working relationship with both parties in Congress, he might could have achieved something noteworthy during his Presidency. But, that didn't happen, and it won't happen in the remaining two years, either.

Without Congress, the President is debilitated and virtually worthless. Barack Obama is the perfect example of our Constitutional Democracy in action.

If that's the case, why is the House suing him?

So you are saying Romney would also have signed Obamacare. Got it.

The same could be said of Congress--without a willing president, Congress might as well not even exist, because the president still retains the power of the veto pen. And with Congress needing a 2/3rds majority to override a presidential veto, and how unlikely that will be even if the GOP takes the Senate in the fall, that makes it very important who is in the White House.

I guess Congress is going to have to try to work with the president if they want to get anything done in the next two years. Not that anyone expects that to happen.

True. But, who stands to lose more from vetoing everything that hits his desk..... Obama or Congress? Do you think Obama is content with spending the last two years being the obstructionist?

I agree that Obama is a total failure but it takes two to tangle... I am surprised that nobody in the Democratic Party went to Obama and yelled some sense into him... Too many Yes men around him and in the Democratic Party... Look at how the Democrats voted... They are the embodiment of Yes men that everyone abhors...

this is the best post i have seen in a long time.
however to be fair, it took george 8 years to run up a IOU of 6 trillion. obama did 10 in much less time.
obama is a 1 trick pony, stimulus debting. they are both devoted to war-- creation of an army of assassins aka special ops and blackwater, and automated murder, drones. their greatest fear is not al queda, its us.
NRA is analogous of the brown shirts of third reich. once they are eliminated, the rest will be easy.
the amount of money and effort being expended to do that is enormous.

That's my point. He's not powerless because of the ability of a President to sign Executive Orders.
