Yes, and we should. And gambling too.

Good point. Let's start by reducing LE staff by 50% and closing half of our prisons.

3 years, I think in three years federal prohibition is going away. I've heard that from several people I know who are in law enforcement and state legislatures myself in conversation.

Colorado has experienced minimal harmful effects from it, Washington is the second litmus test. 48 other states are stupid. If CO and WA can legalize this drug, make money, and cut down on other crimes by allowing law enforcement to concentrate on violence, other states are going to follow suit quickly. The federal government can't keep its current laws on the books when 20% of the states, 10 or so, have legal marijuana.
Maybe somebody should send Obama a note. He's a leader of the war on drugs.

the projected tax revenue in Colorado is a lot less than expected because people are buying more medical mj than recreational mj.......
And high tax rates will keep the black market alive and well. It is very easy to grow.

Or just stop making personal choices a crime. If the government made eating peanuts a crime, would you support it?

Except that consuming, cultivating and distributing cannabis (so long as it's not provided to minors) should not be a crime!

Just the red states or Obama really. The blue states are on board, but Obama isn't willing to reclassify MJ.
