While the immediate issue is Israel having the right to defend itself from rocket attacks by people who have sworn to destroy it ..... that's clear-cut ....... it's helpful for those interested in the bigger picture to get both sides of the story. We really do mainly get the Israeli side here. We know that Palestinians want to destroy Israel - but why? Might there be reasons other than pure irrational hatred driven by Muslim jihadism?

Here's an interesting view of the history of the Israeli-Palestinian conflicts written back in 2001 by Jews For Justice In the Middle East. It takes a dim view of Zionism and the actions of Israelis down through the decades. The Origin of the Palestine-Israel Conflict

What is deceptive is the concept of there being a Palestinian Arab people that have been misplaced after living in the area for generations.

Israel are occupiers of Gaza that was agreed to be Palestinian land. To somehow think Israel is an innocent victim is complete hogwash. The blind US support of Israel is only supported, because of the First Testament tie to Christianity, and the real lack of separation of church and state the was the real intent of our constitution. Had Christianity been tied to the Koran we'd be dropping bombs on Israel.

It is so sad to see someone so willfully blind. Attrition. Ah-tri-shun. Look it up:

I guess Israeli kids don't count to you, now do they? Of course not.

Let's see....when did this rocketing start? When Israel *pulled out* of Gaza.

Meanwhile, enough aid was given to Gaza to turn it into Dubai 2.0, if the Hamas rulers who took over wanted to do that.

But they didn't. They used the money to buy rockets.

And in true savagery, perfectly good buildings left behind by Israel, which the savages could have actually put to good use, were smashed.

You Commiecrats turned Dhimmicrats really aren't going to enjoy politically fellating the jihadists like you politically fellated the Sandinistas. There is no Latin Mystique about these savages, and at least the Marxists *claimed* to have a plan for the future.

Well, at any rate there's a simple solution to the current problem. Hamas should stop shooting rockets into Israel, and pursue nonviolent resistance. That's all that's needed.

Not happening. What's happening in that area is kind of like the Albanian vendetta culture. It is simply a violent place, populated by violent people with grudges that reach back millennia. When enough people don't care about peace, there is no peace. It's really that simple.

We should stop sending foreign aid there. It's a complete and utter waste.
