Why don't we tax non-Christians here in America just like Islamic states do with non-Muslims paying a special tax (Jizya) unless they convert. It will bring tons of revenue and we could fix our infrastructure.. and/or taxing synagogues, mosques & temples.

I'm 100% serious... If some countries could do it why can't we? Not saying they should be persecuted.

For example, Patrick Henry, "Mr. Give me Liberty or Give me Death" thought that the separation of church and state only applied to the Federal Government and he wanted his state of Virginia to require by law that all men tithe to a Christian church of choice.

Violate the 1st Amendment and also it's completely ridiculous.

Why don't we tax churches? I think we'd make a lot more that way.

This forum is totally out of control. The inmates are running the asylum. The threads get nuttier by the minute.

No it does not. If it does, it should be repealed or changed. Why should Muslims threaten us with Islamic domination and flying the flag of Allah on the white house, but my proposal is bad?!

Because quite frankly we are better than those countries and it violates our version of justice and modern interpretations of the constitution.

I agree with your interpretation, however, did you know that some founding fathers thought that states could in fact do similar things.

For example, Patrick Henry, "Mr. Give me Liberty or Give me Death" thought that the separation of church and state only applied to the Federal Government and he wanted his state of Virginia to require by law that all men tithe to a Christian church of choice.

And we could make them sew Stars-of-David or Star-and-Crescent patches on their clothes. Not saying they should be persecuted...

(I'm 0% serious, 100% appalled)

That is discrimination against one religious and ethnic group. Note that I said all non-Christians.
