Marriage is the unification of the sexes of which male plus female are the only two possible components that accomplish this.

And same sex marriage is the unification of two of the same sex....why is that so hard for people to grasp?

Heritage and tradition are important. They are a big part of culture, and culture is what keeps society together. Maybe as years go by and gay marriage becomes more and more accepted, then the husband and wife terms will change but there is no reason to cram it down peoples' throats by force.

Are you married? If so, do you have less than 10 children? If so, why not more? That was the norm for hundreds of years. Do you allow your wife to work outside of the home? Blasphemy! Don't you know a woman's place is in the home because she's not bright enough to do anything else? That's the way it was for thousands of years - and still is for many women in the world.

None of those things you mentioned were changed by forcible decree. They changed naturally over time. Which is exactly what I said, that things will change on their own over time. So all your disagreement ended up doing was further reinforcing my point.

Why on earth would I want to be unified? I enjoy being an individual person, thank you very much.
