What do "those people" do to help themselves? Why do they wait for someone else? These same people claim it's too hard to do something as simple as obtaining a voter ID. How can we expect that they will do what it takes to "legally" help themselves.

What do I do? I teach interview skills and life skills to women who have escaped abusive relationships and have been through a life skills training program to teach them white collar, office related skills so they can move out of low paying jobs.
I volunteer at our local food bank.
Among other things. I'm not going to list all the things I do, because I'm not here to brag. But I have lived in the projects before, I've been in an abusive situation before, I've lived IN A COMMUNITY much like the one Mike Brown lived in, and I know what and who perpetrates a cycle of poverty.

Well, he certainly didn't waste any time trying to establish an adult record for himself. Barely 18 and already robbing stores and assaulting police officers. Clearly a good kid.

I'm tired of hearing the "1 mistake" argument made for one, but not for the other. If Brown could have made, 1 mistake than so could the officer.
What the protesters are demanding is not impossible. It's VERY possible. Transparency is what the people want. Body cameras on officers and an Independent Investigative body. That's not too much to ask.
Especially when we're spending billions elsewhere to help people.
Murders have a lot of variability. Ferguson had none yet this year, but eight last year and six the year before that. Or course , it is also important to note that Ferguson stopped publishing individual crime reports last year....
So now he has priors even though the Chief said he had no priors. Simply because someone on here said it so.
