You can file a lawsuit against anyone for pretty much any amount. That doesn't mean that anytime something like this happens people should be running to the internet to post about it.
Six people were killed in Texas recently at the end of a police pursuit including a family of four. The above case doesnt make much sense but when innocent bystanders are killed as a result of police actions I can see a lawsuit.
This isn't as simple as a stupid lawsuit. It all depends on what the facts actually are and how the laws apply here. Can someone working private security chase someone through the streets? Would it be the job of the private security officer to investigate an armed robbery?
The idea that police chases have to end at the end of a county line is false but does that also apply to a private security officer?
I don't know so I can't make a definitive comment.
this being prince george's county, i think they might have a pretty good shot at winning.
Possibly, I don't know anything about Prince George County.
