There are communities there trying to enforce sharia law.
Parts of it though (family law).
But don't worry. Other states have passed laws barring Sharia law in courts over the US Constitution but they got overturned.
Oklahoma passed that law.
A Federal judge though struck it down as being against the Constitution (go figure) and that it discriminates based on religion.
Interesting question, I don't know the actual numbers or proportions, but a lot of the Arabs in Detroit metro are Christians e.g. Chaldeans (from Khaldiya) who are Iraqi Catholics. There is an Iraqi consulate in the northern suburbs (Troy I think).
I know that, but I doubt the Arab Christians are the ones pulling this. Years ago the majority who immigrated here were Christians, not now.
So you're OK with illegals, many of them criminals entering the US, or engage in criminal activity once in the US, demanding that Americans who only speak English, learn Spanish, is OK, because they are Christians??
Not at all. I don't want any of these people here, but when we import people with considerably different cultures that causes havoc. Look at England.
Yes, thank you. So standard ESL instruction. Just as I suspected.
No, not JUST ESL Instruction. Full translation of documents in Arabic and AA for Arab descended teachers.
ESL Instruction does not involve translated documents and AA quotas for teachers.
Also this:
The settlement also requires the district to provide school documents in both English and foreign languages such as Arabic and to promote a more diverse staff.
