Really not an option for the vast majority of people and for those who own a plane that's suitable for long travel, few bother to pilot it themselves.
I've run into these types of idiots on planes before. They bought a seat on a plane knowing that the seat in front of them reclines but they somehow feel they own the space. Can't fix stupid I guess.

The solution is not not allow the seats to recline. There is no reason why people should expect to sleep during a flight in "coach".
The article claims the writer can be reached at a Twitter address. It is my understanding that you can reach a Twitter user ONLY if that user is Following you.
So how bogus is it to claim that readers can reach the writer at that address?
They should have been hit with the $25,000 fine for causing the flight to be diverted. If I were a fellow passenger I would have been very upset with these mental midgets.
They were both in their mid to late 40s so that's awfully old to be acting like teens/twenty somethings. I fault the guy. He was using a device that was banned and refused to remove it. He just wanted to use the laptop and couldn't( boo hoo) and had extra leg room anyway.
The woman shouldn't have thrown water on him, though. That crossed the line.
I've been in some busses that are kind of cramped and when seats recline it makes it worse. Almost never does somebody ask you if its okay, you just deal with it. Removing the reclining feature of the seats is probably the best thing.

I think it's time for someone to compile a list. A list of all the 'features' (not) available to second class citizens. This practice seems to be getting more and more common.

While I would be outraged as a passenger if this happened to me - not being able to recline - I don't see any culpability on the part of the guy.

He used a device to keep the seat from reclining? I'd be annoyed, too.
