I've read that if you fit in that category it doesn't matter what your educational background is, what job you had your chances of finding something comparable is less than 10%. And that has happened to a lot of people the last few years.

Anyone can find themselves in that position. Companies close/merge all the time. Or else you might have some serious medical problem and can no longer work. Almost everyone posting on this forum could run into that.
You can buy insurance for getting sick and not being able to earn income. Maybe we should mandate people buy insurance. That worked out well last time.

The life of a feral raccoon would be a good example.

That is one reason I never wanted to work for others.

I would have less control.......and just make money for them.

'Saved' fiat money that was created by the Federal Reserve out of thin air that grew tax free in retirement accounts.

My wealth did not grow in retirement accounts.

Mine came from work.

Not everyone has their own business. Most of those that do try that route fail.

My wife and I started our own business more than 10 years ago. The first few years we made zero from it. But we kept on with it and today it iis doing quite well. It takes time to build up and get established and those that suddenly find themselves unemployed many times just don't have the resources to tough it out and make a go of it.

If you were just now starting out, totally unknown, doing what you do you'd likely have a rough time of it at first as well.

It's not that easy anymore. Do you have any idea how many apply for the same job....hundreds if not more. The majority don't even get an interview. I know people who have sent out hundreds of their resumes for jobs that they are highly qualified for. Unfortunately, there are many just as qualified. And this is the real world. Your world is a fantasy.

Shocking Picture of What Life Will Look Like When You Can't Afford to Retire
It is part of the new Globalist Utopia (New World Order) where everyone is competition in the world except for the Multinational Corporations and Central Banks that call the shots via our government and use our tax dollars with a Globalist Military Police Force to enforce it.

Multinational Corporations are free to go anywhere they please like Communist China or Socialist Europe and still have the ability to call the shots in our government, but if any citizen relocates to China, Norway or Russia they are called a Commie or Socialist Traitor.

Individualism and Patriotism is for the Little Citizens while Colluding Corporate Board Members, Politicians and Bankers are free to engage in collectivism.

It's true we put in the max and won't pay taxes until we are forced to start withdrawing it. There is also that "fiat" money we put into a savings account and separate investment accounts every month - above and beyond the 401K. Here's a couple of dirty little secrets for you Leftists - people acquire 'wealth' by spending less than they earn every month - AND that "fiat" money spends just fine in retirement.

I't our money - we worked for it, we earned it, we spent less than we earned, we saved it, we invested it. It's OURS. It's not yours and it sure is not going to be the Government that takes it away from us - just because we have it. The FED and the Administration are surely printing money just as fast as they can to try and stay afloat while the Administration spends like Drunk Sailors (and I apologize to all Sailors who drink) - sure, it "fake" - BUT I have to go with the reality. I make money with money now that we are retired. We bought low in 2009 and did a pretty good job of picking "Obama" investments. We were able to figure out what stocks/bonds would do well based on his ideology and game plan. It's worked quite well - we did all that with OUR saved money, OUR risk - OUR reward.

Leftists will just have to learn to deal with that. You didn't earn, or save that money - we did.
