Why do blacks have BET and whites can't have a WET?
I really could not care less if you have a WET (even though it sounds like a porn channel), seriously. I highly doubt most blacks would care as much as you think. BET was developed during a time when there were less channels and TV shows for that matter that catered to a black audience much less showed blacks in a positive light. BET was the first channel of it's kind. However the channel has been owned by whites since 1997 and the channel is crap now. Many blacks can't stand BET anymore than many whites can stand CMT. Quite frankly I'd rather watch TVOne or VH1 Soul. Much better options in my opinion.

Why do blacks always play the race card?
Hmmm.....cant' say that I "play the race card". Do I believe my race makes me a target in some situations? Ummm...YEAH!!! When I'm followed around in a department store even though I'm not stealing anything, yes, I believe I'm being targeted. When I'm reprimanded for defending myself (referring to middle school days BTW) and starting the altercation even though I did not, hell yeah I believe it's b/c of my race. When I see 20 white kids hanging out and no one bats an eye but a group of black kids 4 or 5 are together there is immediate attention from authority? Yeah, seems like a racial issue to me.

Why do black have black only colleges?
We don't, you must be referring to HBCU's (Historically Black Colleges and Universities). These were established during segregation and when they were established they were the only institutions of higher education that blacks were even allowed to attend. Now today, they are landmarks because they mark a milestone in black history, there are a few of them today that are predominately white. Most of them are still predominately black, but ask yourself this. How many white people do you know going out of their way to go to a school w/ that large of a black population?

You can say the N word but I can't?
I don't like this word either, sometimes it slips but I really don't like it at all much less coming from another black person. My father personally despises the word.

Why to black people wear du-rags?
Ummm....to keep our hair neat silly! Contrary to the belief that it's a fashion statement, it actually isn't and it's not to straighten our hair either b/c unless we use a texturizer or a relaxer our hair just is not going to be fine like a person of the Caucasian persuasion. I'm just sayin.

Why do you talk like that?
Funny thing, if we use ebonics, we are hoodlums but if we use proper english then we area putting up a front. Go figure. I personally use a combination of both.

Why do black people get affirmative action?
Affirmative action benefits blacks, whites, hispanics, asians, women, gays. Why single blacks out? Furthermore AA certainly has not made life easier for me. I have yet to simply get in college or get a job solely based on my race. What planet are you living on?

You listen to rock?
Yeah, a little, and jazz, folk, select pop. Rap is not all I'm about, in fact alot of today's rap is crap. I've returned to R&B and gospel for the most part.

Why don't blacks stand up for what is right/speak out against what's wrong in their communities?
Please see my locked thread below for that answer.

Anyone else care to add to this? It can be stereotypical questions or just your own comentary

black people dont want BET, thats some bullshh we want off the air

keep in mind its run by Viacom (white people) who only allow baffoonish shht to be aired to keep young black folks ignorant

the n-word is just a word, its the thought behind it... i tell people that if you have to consciously think about saying the word then you shouldnt say it... if you didnt grow up in a culture where it was used like a pronoun then dont use it.

affirmative action? blacks, whites, hispanics whoever...in this world if you get any kind of edge for anything then take it. some have the misfortune of not being born into a particular family or socioeconomic condition

Even after BET was sold to Viacom it was still a decent channel up to 2002. Once '03 rolled in it was a rap. You still had shows like teen summit, rap city, 106th and park, midnight love, BET after dark, etc

keep in mind its run by Viacom (white people) who only allow baffoonish shht to be aired to keep young black folks ignorant It's basically a black MTV now.

BET recently did away w/ the celebration of Gospel. I hope they don't do away w/ Black Girls Rock b/c that's one of the few things I like watching on this channel lately.

Learn the definition of race-bating. (HINT: Just having a discussion about race is not race-baiting.)

That's a copout. I respect a person more if he/she uses proper English than some garbage speak with its origins in the gutter.
