Yes, the environment is evil and must be destroyed at once! This can only be done if we work together and prevent people from changing things.

I like the convenience of plastic bags. It is too much of a burden on me to have to lug cloth bags into a store when I shop. It's not just groceries. Everywhere uses plastic. Am I supposed to go around (in a Prius, I suppose) with a trunk full of cloth bags? Cloth bags slow checkout considerably as well. My time is important. No, thanks. The government has no business making my life miserable because a handful of environmental wackos have a thing about plastic bags.

I vacation in Halifax. They get their power from coal. They still use plastic bags. They also have recycling bins for plastic.

Google the Great Pacific Garbage Patch and educate yourself so you won't look like an ignorant fool.

Hmmm, I would have thought conservatives, who are generally opposed to government spending, would support a ban on plastic bags.

Summary: West Coast Communities? Cost of Managing Marine Debris | Pacific Southwest, Region 9 | US EPA

Wonders never cease.

There should be a border fence around most of california, so the loons can't keep spreading their loony ideas.

You have smart conservatives, and then you have the low information ones. The low information ones have a kneejerk reaction to everything liberals do, because in their mind, if liberals want it, they must oppose it no matter what.

You can't lug around 5 or 7 lightweight cloth bags? I've been to the UK, and see old people carrying cloth bags around with them, they seem to be doing just fine. Not only that, but they WALK to the grocery store and back. So, no, I don't believe you at all.

Scientists should study the Conservative mind. It seems like a pretty effective barrier to new ideas.
