The food ended up rotting in the field because people shopping at grocery stores do not want to pay what it actually costs for the produce they are buying.

The food ended up rotting in the field because the producers were too cheap and incompetent to structure their business in a way that would enable them to pay a living wage for the labor that they required to keep the food from rotting in the field.
The consumer (you and me) has to eat. S/he has no control over the price of food. The rise in meat prices has not cut into meat consumption.

This is true. In the end, everybody will pay the bottom line.

That's a liberal lie? Republicans spread this around too? You think national republicans really want to keep immigrant labor out? No!! Corporations want immigrant labor to continue. They want lower wages. They want us to think that there are jobs that "Americans won't do" when really they mean they just don't want to pay enough to meet demand.

Very few GOPers spread that lie around but most of the Democrats do. Let's have a little reality check here. Corporations are owned by both Republicans and Democrats and it isn't "immigrant" labor it is cheap, illegal labor.

No?

Didn't think so. Americans are spoiled.
What a crock! Picking crops out in the hot sun has no future in it and is hazardous to your health. Most Americans don't live in rural areas anyway. That doesn't make Americans spoiled for not doing so. Most illegals aren't picking crops anyway they are doing blue collared jobs the Americans have always done for a lower price. Is this what we want to see in America is several people living in a cramped little trailer? Sounds like you approve of a third world lifestyle. And yes, these illegals are sending billions out of our economy that isn't being spent here. That's a good thing?

There are unlimited H-2A visas for legal, foreign crop pickers. Some of the greedy growers won't use them because they'd have to provide them with better wages and healthcare. So they just pass the social costs of their illegal employess unto we the taxpayer.

US based corporations do not hire illegal aliens.

IBM, Apple, ExxonMobile...or any other fortune 500 company can care less about the wages at the illegal alien--American worker level. It does not effect their bottom line. The products, goods, and services they use are not influenced on whether the products purchased come from company that hires illegal aliens, does not hire illegal aliens.

And this is one of the main reasons that we are in this situation. You proved my point...

Other, more recent articles still cite a high number, but report some benefit from illegal workers. It's never as simple as politicians on both sides want to make it sound.

I see you have fell for the liberal lies and drank their Kool-Aid. Congratulations. I suggest you do some real research on this as to the actual costs of illegal aliens in our country. You might want to be respectful of our immigration laws also as a loyal American.

Only 3% of illegal aliens are picking crops. The rest are doing jobs that Americans will do for a fair wage. These greedy employers just pass on their social costs to us. I find it odd that liberals defend illegal aliens and in the same vein cry about corporate profits. Yet they want them to be able to keep their cheap, illegal slaves so that they can increase their profits.

That is the migrant worker program. After the harvest they move on.
And then they go home again until next year.

That is not what the 30+ million other illegals are doing.
They are doing construction, landscaping, janitorial and restaurant services.
They are the lawn guys doing mowing, replacing roofs, painting houses, framing at construction sites, cleaning your houses, watching your kids at daycare.

Heck a few of them even get into the system and get government jobs.
Denver is going out of their way to hire deferred illegals as teachers.

Whatever it is they are doing must be paying well as the average amount of $400 is being sent "home" weekly through Western Union by these illegals.

Certainly but it's huge problem in many industries; agriculture, construction, hotel services etc.
Doesn't matter, either you have some morals and scruples and play by the rules or you don't. If there truly is an American worker shortage then why don't these employers hire legal immigrants? There are 23 million Americans out of work. Yeah, sure there is a worker shortage....NOT!

Are you aware that those who use illegal workers are passing their social costs on to the rest of us? Guess that's ok though just as long as they can run their business, right?
