That's really a simplistic comment.

You have to know that the Senate staggers its elections such that only 1/3 of its members face elections in an election year. In this cycle it just happens that there are more Democratic Senators up for reelection, and some of them have retired, making them open seats, such as WV, MT, which have trended Republican and will likely go towards the GOP. Also, in non-presidential election years, turnout by D-leaning voters tends to be lower than in presidential election years.

Perhaps the GOP will take control of the Senate in 2014. However, if so, it is highly possible that the Democrats may take back control in 2016 as there are more GOP-held Senate seats that are up for election that year.

Per rcp, GOP should get 51 seats. Whoop De Doo, with the vast majority of safe seats in 2012 and 2014, barely eeking 51 out! In 2016, the class of 2010 comes up, and GOP has far more unsafe seats than vs Dems. To hold majority in 2016, GOP must get 55+ in 2014.

The problem haunting the GOP is unforced errors of the past like Engle, O'Donnell, etc.

Basically, the GOP doesn't have to campaign on anything nor will they. All they ever had to do was make people upset about their lives. That's why the last six years have been dedicated to lies, misinformation, fear, and daily criticism of the President. A pissed off voter is a motivated voter (albiet, irrational).
And Democrats don't do this? They are the party of appealing to emotion. With phrases like "war on women", their strategy is MADE to **** off the voter. "The Racist White Males want to reach into your uterus and tell it what to do!"

I will actually say that Democrats do this WAY better than Republicans and this is why Republicans have a harder time connecting with people.

.

All the GOP needs to make that go away is simple: Adopt a pro choice platform, and refuse to support candidates who do not staunchly back it.

Well, what would you call mandating unnecessary transvaginal ultrasounds?

Women are not as ignorant as you think--you are simply rationalizing the fact that women don't appreciate others telling them how to live. Nobody has to tell them anything to scare them. Women have minds of their own and they are well aware who would like to keep them from making decisions regarding their bodies and reproductive health. They know what the issues are without anyone "scaring" them.

What the GOP needs to do is stop electing men that have to be "trained" to speak to women.

Conservative Poll: Women Think The GOP Is 'Intolerant'

Republicans bring in media specialists to teach them how to speak to women and minorities

I was responding to a comment said about how the GOP instills fear. I pointed out the fact that it can be argued that Democrats do the same thing. Both parties are guilty depending on how you look at it.

Democrats are so busy trying you bypass the constitution and block what ever comes out of the house . The DNC and Obama is self inflecting their own wounds.

Republicans stick to the issues and let Democrats Wessel and wiggle their way out of in live debates. Many decorates running or trying to protect their seats will not engage in debates.

I wonder why?
