Yep, I had no idea. The majority of our news over here is focused on the names of celebrity babies.

The few decent news choices we have, like Al Jazeera America and BBC America, don't really provide too much information other than the various world crisis.

Simple as this: I don't trust our government to run our healthcare system. Everything they manage is a mess of corruption and inefficiency with little to no accountability. While the current system is far from ideal, those who do have insurance enjoy the best quality of care and outcomes in the world. Once the government implements single-payer, we'll go from most of us having access to the best healthcare to everyone being provided mediocre healthcare.

There is too much going on in the world for international news papers/stations to cover things about relatively unimportant countries. Things certainly aren't too rosy here but of course they could be a lot worse.

The private sector is even worse with corruption and inefficiency.

Companies can't stay in the red and remain in business unless the government, who always spends much more than it has, decides it's worthy and then gives away tax money to their friends, I mean, a company too large to fail.
