I just read that Sotloff's family has asked the leader of ISIS to answer why he committed a great sin in beheading their child. Don't they realize that ISIS flies the flag of false religion. I just spent 3 hours in a limo ride with an Iraqi driver and we discussed at length the details of the ME. I learned a lot from his view point. The major thing I took away was ISIS does not represent Islam and they just hide behind false beliefs. They don't care, just as Saddam did not care. They will kill anyone, Sunni or Shiite.

Isalm was spread by the sword. The bloodshed you see may not be in the Koran per se but the glory days of Islam had mass killings of the defeated, beheadings, expropriations of property and women of those who ended up losing. Convert or die is not an ISIS invention. In fact, what gives them the energy is the feeling that they are resurrecting the hey day of Islam and prophet Mohammed.

As for who is going to stop them other than the US, look who has the track record of beating them and that is non other than Assad himself. You are dreaming if your think Saudis or even the Turks are going to join in. Heck, they are the biggest facilitator.

And Assad is the problem, or rather US policy toward Assad is the big problem. The US hates Assad and has always refused to help him in any way. As a matter of fact, it is because of US policy toward Assad that ISIS has become what it is. The Obama administration and other US politicians encouraged young revolutionaries to overthrow Assad because they want to see him out of power. Now they see who he will be replaced with, and they still refuse to act.

With the capabilities of military satellites it would be easy to destroy much of ISIS with targeted air strikes, rain hell fire down on their asses and teach them a lesson.

The problem is not them, it us. And we are the problem on many levels.

Because we should be able to wipe them away, but we don't.

It's difficult to operate in a position of strength when we are in so much debt, and when an increasing amount of people are not producing anything.

We are not unified due to the political infighting and the loss of identity of who we are.

Also from my perspective, the level of sin in this country does not give us any brownie points with God.

Why is it that WE, as in, the U.S., have to be the ones that take action in these matters?

Granted, our government did sow the seeds of this madness, by invading Iraq in the first place and absolutely screwing up everything post-Saddam.

But don't we have more pressing priorities to take care of on our own soil first? Let them take care of themselves, instead of us holding their hands.

By the way, anyone else note the irony that one of the reasons given for the invasion of Iraq in 2003, was that Iraq was churning out terrorists left and right to attack the U.S. (with some flimsy 'evidence' that Saddam/Iraq had ties to the 9/11 attack). And, thanks to what I mentioned above, in fact it 'evolved' into ISIS that now threatens America with jihad?
