Stupid comment. As I said, requiring that insurance pay for Viagara is equally dumb.
Ah, a torn knee from sking as a comparison? Not a very good case. Insurance should pay for your injury...not your skis and lift ticket.
When I buy my health insurance, I expect it to cover my medical needs. Sexual health is a very important part of the human life. As such, I have no problem with paying for Viagra or birth control in my companies insurance plan.
I have long said that we should have a, limited, national healthcare system that covers the "must have" health care needs. Then individuals, like myself, can buy supplemental insurance to cover things like viagra or reading glasses.
Birth control prevents pregnancy, which is an extreme cost to an insurance company. I, therefore, fully support a national healthcare system that pays for reproductive medical needs, including birth control in all forms.
Just a pet peeve, but as an ex-squid, I'd appreciate the Daily Mail not referring to SEALs as soldiers. SEALs are sailors and marines. Dumb Brits.
The British language defines soldier as......
Full Definition of SOLDIER
1
a : one engaged in military service and especially in the army
b : an enlisted man or woman
c : a skilled warrior
2
: a militant leader, follower, or worker
I believe that SEALs meet that requirement as well, since we do speak English in this country, they are correct in their terminology.
As sailors, seaman, and marines are mainly enlisted, and skilled warriors, they meet B and C quite easily.
Of course they still call the hood of a car a "bonnet"
Obama is our elected Commander in Chief and even though I agree with less than 30% of what he has done in office he has not done enough to call for his resignation. Similar to Bush jr or Carter in my mind.
That being said, and coming from a military family, I do empathize with the parents of the Seal team 6 member who was killed. Likely, from their point of view the current Commander in Chief, having absolutely no military experience, is no friend of the military.
Considering the majority of all career military officers, and Special Forces officers specifically, are Right of center, there's a certain angst when some to the Left like the current Commander in Chief sends them into harm’s way.
Bravo. I think too many people ignore that it's not just playing soldier to come home with some medals. People love the big parades as soldiers go to war, and cannot take seeing the costs when those same soldiers come home (sometimes in a box).
There is a real cost to war. People are putting themselves at risk every day to fight, kill, and maybe die. We should do everything in our power to safeguard lives...but we need to keep the costs in mind before committing to it. Which is why I often shake my head when I see those who have never been around combat, the costs, or the reality be the first to champion the most severe wars at the drop of a hat.
I think the son understood very well what he faced. He was experienced and trained in some of the toughest programs that can be devised, and succeeded. He was an honor to the service.
(CAG) Combat Applications Group = Special Force Groups, Seal Teams, Six, Seven and Ten, Ground Branch of the (SAD) Special Activities Division (CIA) all are a part of what's called the Hardee Boys, The Boys, or more commonly known as Delta Assaulters, these young men do not have parades, shoot, when the crowds are forming at a Terminal Gate to wave their Troopers home, the Hardee boys come though a different and quite gate with no one waiting, they are called the "Quite Professionals" for good reason.
Just wanted to clarify.
The parents have lost their son, unless anyone else here has? no one here should be so judgmental,
As for their actions questioning our Commander in Chief, I'll say this, ...............................................
Again I bet you've never lost a loved one in battle field. Consider yourself lucky.
These parents lost kids, ONLY son. You can learn to be a bit sensitive.
My brother never came close to dying. So I will never judge the raw emotions of the parents who lost kids.
But that is just me.
If the answer of "people die in the military, big deal." is the "right" attitude then yes, I agree with you. But I would like to believe humans are subject to human emotions. I would refrain from calling them disgraceful like you did.
Should the president resign due to their loss? That is the question of this forum that is being debated. The easy answer is no.

What?? Can we try this again with some English fluency? I have seen Chinese takeout menus that make more sense.
