Thank you ............!!!
Why did he not protect us better after the bombings? Could it be that his I'm a lover not a fighter thinking with the other brain was in the way? Or that he is a coward? He had a duty to keep us safe and he failed! thousands of people lost their lives I find that tragic!

And marriage is not the federal governments business one way or the other.
I do believe that it has grown due to the fact that 9/11 happened to protect our sorry asses in this country. Do you think he would have grown the Gov otherwise?

Since their focus was on Iraq, the intelligence agencies also focused on Iraq in order to provide the Bush administration with the information they were requesting. Any opportunities we had to stop 9/11 slipped past us, in part because the terrorist attack was bold and unprecedented, in part because there was a transition between two administrations that interrupted communication flow, and in part because Bush had an agenda against Iraq before he even took office.

DC
True, the Bush administration actually considered immediately striking against Iraq ON 9/11.

Or............we could look at reality, the fact that the man whose number one responsibility is to protect the country, the POTUS, was George W Bush on 9/11. And I agree, it is tragic that "He had a duty to keep us safe and he failed!"

It's chilling to me that close to 25% of the people in this forum think President Bush is a good president. For pete's sakes just how bad does a president have to be?

That's sad that it's chilling to you--I feel suddenly optimistic that there are actually people with some sense and intellect on this board. I was losing hope until today!

This president hopefully will go down in history as one of the worst presidents we have ever had.
His "I'm a war president" "I'm the decider" attitude has all but ruined this country.

The middle class is shrinking, the economy is looking bleak, thousands of our soldiers dead, what happened to Osama? OHHH thats right, the president said he doesn't spend much time on him.
Is that before or after he helps people put food on their familys? Or maybe it's after he helps gynecologists practice their love of woman.
sheesh!
It is so obvious this man cares only about the rich.

Katrina showed us how much he cares about the people of this country.

I agree with Townie, how people still believe in him is beyond me.

23% is pretty close to the national approval figures. Partisanship is a powerful thing (shrug).

The silver lining is perhaps he has managed to galvanize the rest of the country to ensure we do not end up with more of the same this next go round.

Thumbs up Says who?

This is all based on the assumption that President Bush is a bad President! The 75% of Americans that we are told that he is don't live anywhere near me! It's so easy to bash someone because someone else says you should.

Only history can and will judge how good President Bush's term was...not the general public or the liberal news media.

Since you're in rural NC I wouldn't expect many folks of any political opinion to be living near you.

He works for the people, everyone has the right to judge whether their personal lives and the country has improved or degraded during his Presidency.
