Why are you rationalizing a starvation level wage?
This assumes a few things:
1) You actually get 40 hours per week (most min wage jobs won't consistently).
2) No emergencies happen
Irrelevant.
How's that irrelevant? If I make the minimum wage while complaining that I can afford to make payments for my Porsche, you would jump upside down criticizing me for buying the Porsche.

Strawman. A Porsche and food / rent are not comparable.

Have you gone to your city council meeting to ask them to raise the min wage in your city ?
SeaTac and Seattle did it and now the effort is underway in Bellevue.
Who's punishing them? I said my experience of being poor taught me something. If your experience of being poor didn't teach you anything, so be it.
By suppressing the minimum wage, you are implying they need to "get a skill" or accept starvation. That is attempting to impose your values on the poor through deliberate wage suppression.

please, stand up and teach, oh mighty opinionated one
You're giving them a handout anyway, because they aren't earning enough to eat.
