Not to say Maher's statistic is entirely wrong, but his has a 85% chance of being wrong.

Is scienceblogs mutual and unbiased enough for you?

Wrong. That's why we, and most other civilized bastions, have a "minimum wage".

Yup. You disagree with a statistics (yes, apparently you can argue with facts) and you try to turn the argument you're losing into a carnival.
Nice.

Nice.
Then I guess we have nothing to discuss.
Your two's sources are valid. Anybody who disagree are conservative deceived by parody. How sad!

Define "living wage."

No, we have minimum wage because people feel good about having good intentions. Minimum wage will never provide the purchasing power that its proponents wish it to. The market corrects itself by decreasing the purchasing power of the additional fiat currency so that those earning minimum wage are still receiving the same market value that they had previously. You could set it at a 1000 dollars an hour...does not matter in the least. Those earning 40000 dollars a week would still have trouble paying the rent.

That's not true on a percentage basis and is highly unlikely on a raw basis. Retail and leisure workers do not need education to do their jobs, but healthcare and education workers do. Even a hospital lackey is going to be making about $11 in the food court.
