I guess we should be shocked that several posters just "shrug" and say "why not?"
Sadly -- the fact is that we have learned not to be 'shocked' by these feelings by some people.
It's very hard to believe that some would think "why not?", and say "what Laws have they broken?"
This is the Leftist view point in today's world. Head Chopping is hunky dory.
It's like an old movie title - Live and Let Die.
James Bond on the movie title I believe. As for the OP, why not let them come home if they are really
sincere about it ? That's way better than them just coming "back" with a giant bomb in a back pack.
At least you would where they are & what their intentions might be.
Remember, they have passports, Id's, and, you can just drive into England from France very easily.
What's that old philosophy , Keep your friends close and your enemies closer. That just might apply
here. You never know.
Oh, btw, be careful now, you are dating yourself with the "Head chopping is hunky dory" statement.
lol You & I are probably the only ones left alive that knows what decade "hunky dory" came from.
...took arms up against your country, and her allies and now you want to come back home, and have everything back to the way it used to be. What do you think, let the prodigal sons come back, or drag them in front of a military tribunal, and have the tried as traitors?
That is, if American citizens go overseas to fight with ISIS or al-Qaeda or some sub-faction who has declared to kill Americans because they are American, should they not be allowed to return to the US and lose their citizenship?
Is there such a thing as having no citizenship anywhere in the world? I don't know this. I'm hoping someone else here knows what happens in some other country when a person is stripped of their citizenship?

Lose citizenship? No. Tried and executed for treason? Most definitely.
I guess a moderator glommed my post onto a different thread. Ted Cruz is proposing new legislation:
"The new legislation would amend the existing conditions for stripping U.S. citizenship to include becoming a member of, fighting for, or providing material assistance to a designated foreign terrorist organization that is working to U.S. or its citizens."
But that still doesn't tell me if there are people all around the world with no citizenship as the US can't be the only country that takes away citizenship.
What British laws did they break that would subject them to legal action in Britain?
[]
I'm wondering the same thing. Is Britain even involved in the war in Syria? If not how did they take arms up against their country?
