Lucario????? She said nothing of the kind, nothing of
what she said, was directed at you personally, what she and Casper are trying to
tell you is, that there are mean people out there that would do you and I and
others harm all for the all mightly dollar. I didn't post this young man's
ideas, for people to come in here and start arguing with each other.
I posted it, b/c the man made a lot of sense.
Things are not going to change tomorrow or the next day, it's going to take
generation after generation to stop brainwashing children to believe it's ok to
hurt others....it's not ok...it's not ok to destroy the property of others, b/c
your angry.
I never said it was. I'm not the one who is being addressed by this kid.

Well, that just spoils all of what this young man said...you really need to
make sure you understand what someone is saying before you go off....there were
no personal attacks here at you or anyone else...all she said, is, she is not
going to let her guard down, and no one should, not you, not me....you think b/c
this kid spoke the truth people are all of a sudden going to stop the violence?
If you read my posts, and if you read her posts, it is obvious that I should be scared of her, not the other way around. I'm not the one with guns and ammo all over the place, not the one who is so scared of anything darker than Edgar Winter that she's willing to go Rambo at any moment.

What it means is, a whole lot of people are going to embrace what this kid
said, but are they going to live it....? Its so easy to talk, but will people
seriously implement this into their lives....no...
unfortunately they won't. In other words....he is the accepted norm at the
moment, but if another black kid is shot, in a black neighborhood by whites,
once again, it begins, with violent protests and looting.
The protests come from a legitimate sense of grievance over the continued slaughter of black people, especially males, by police. That is something that should never be happening.
That black people in a marginalized state kill each other, loot and do other violent things is obviously wrong-headed, stupid and insanely futile. But people who have no hope nor stake in this whole thing don't really give a damn about that.
Quote:
You don't know that...she will be wary of anyone who tries to hurt her, is
what she is saying....
No......she's saying she's scared of BLACK PEOPLE. Period.

I don't understand, how you could think or believe a complete stranger is
attacking you on a forum?
your attacking people b/c you do not understand....
Not everyone is against "you" personally or your culture...but you come into
a thread, and put words in people's mouths...you read things in posts that the
people didn't even mean? Why do you take such a personal stands on these
subjects? And get so angry? This is a discussion, not an all out and out
brawl....and everyone has a right to their feelings...and it is Fear that guides
people....not to mention, what they've experienced....
I'm asking you to please be a little more understanding of these
facts....just b/c you think one way and I think another, doesn't make you right
and me wrong or visa versa.
You and I can agree to disagree. I can't do that with most of these posters.
so, two wrongs make a right? You come into a thread with both barrels blasting, get the thread closed down and that's ok?
Thanks a lot....
Lets discuss it rather then throw around insults, we are not children....lets find out why people feel the way they feel? Maybe they have a good reason....
doesn't make it right, but sometimes people become very bitter....yanno? And there is always that possiblity either you or I could be wrong....but we have to remain partial, in order to discuss.
There is nothing wrong with opposing and even emotionally resisting blatant racism. I don't call that wrong. I call that intelligent.
What type of message is this sending to black males??
I know how I feel when I feel that someone is afraid of me. It is not a good feeling, I'm the nicest guy in the world (outside of C-D land). I'm that guy that does everything I can to make women and others feel welcome and loved. I hold the door open for everybody, wave at all of my neighbors, dress pretty normal, etc etc
What if this is done in hiring practices? Who people choose to do business with. Etc, etc.
Our thoughts most definitely have an impact on our society and we are creating the reality that we see at the moment.
I'd like the poster to know exactly how hypocritical and short sighted her viewpoints are. And I'd like everybody who reads this thread to know as well.
IMO the only way to combat the problem is to let people know that their way of thinking is unacceptable and won't be tolerated in this new society. And that they will be held accountable for their reasoning.
does she speak for society, for the entire American people, no, she is one person speaking....
you can't have it all, you never will....I will never have it all, there is always give and take in everything...in your life, you will never see it, but in my life, since the early 50's I have seen a great amount of change....and it will get better, as long as people realize, they have to stop it....and teach their children to stop it....it's about the next generation and the next. It doesn't happen over night, it never will, but we must be thankful for the progress that has been made....
and again, you have no idea what Driller has been through, maybe she has very good reason to feel the way she feels....? That is not for you and I to judge or change....

You started this thread, I assume, for the purpose of discussing what this young man had to say about how we as a society need to change how we think about each other in order to bring about the change we want to see in the world. Driller is displaying exactly the kind of all encompassing fear and hatred of people not like her that the man in the OP is talking about. Why shouldn't her attitude be called out on a thread that was started for the very purpose of talking about people who think like her?
You say it's about the next generation and the next, but what kind of beliefs do you think she is going to pass on to her children?
Personally, I find her belief that all people of color have evil intent in their hearts to be abhorrent. And I have no qualms about pointing that out, since she has no qualms about making that abhorrent statement to begin with.

All good points.
The only thing I disagree about is her having a bad experience influencing her actions. If we all held onto bad experiences we'd never get anywhere.
If I held every cop accountable to the officers who wronged me it would be counter productive. The same as if I held an entire race accountable for the actions of a few. An entire gender. Nation. Etc.
Driller is operating out of fear, spreading fear and division, and isn't addressing her issues. Of course we can't change everyone or expect everyone to change but I also think its past time to tolerate those type of people.
Jesus flipped the money tables. I'm just call a spade a spade.
I watched a little of the presentation, but when he started spewing what I consider to be obscenities, I stopped it.
If he can't speak without the F word, he is, IMO, contributing to the very stereotype that he is trying to speak against!
sorry, I can't vote on right or wrong, because I refuse to listen to that kind of language, so I really don't know what he has to say.
Doesn't have to be danger, could be crime. I used to be fairly open minded. I didn't lock my car door, I got my stereo ripped off. Now I lock it. My house got burglarized, my kids belongings taken. Now I have security cameras. Someone tried to steal my truck, now I have a club on it. I got a knife pulled on me while in a rest room. Now I carry a knife. I had a gun pulled on me coming out of a Company party over a dispute with a girl. Now I carry a gun.
I'm trusting until that trust is broken. Most people are good, many are not.
